2013-14 Gymnastics Athletes of the Week

February 17, 2014-February 23, 2014

Specialist: Erin Olson, Freshman, Faribault, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's
Olson had a career-high on the balance beam this weekend, competing at UW-La Crosse to close the regular season. She recorded a score of 9.350 to take fifth place, the Blugolds' second highest finish. Olson was also seventh in the floor exercise with a score of 9.175.

February 10, 2014-February 16, 2014

Specialist: Karla Hagen, Senior Chaseburg, Wis./Viroqua
Hagen helped the Blugolds to a second-place finish as they took on UW-Oshkosh and Winona State University (Minn.) on Friday for Senior Night. She tied for the Blugolds' best finish on the uneven bars as she scored a 9.100, a season-high, tying for fourth place. She was also 14th on the vault with a score of 8.900.

February 3, 2014-February 9, 2014

Specialist: Leah Robinette, Sophomore, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge
With the Blugolds taking second at the John Zuerlein Invitational on Friday, Robinette won the uneven bars while taking 12th on the vault. She took first on the uneven bars with a score of 9.350 and recorded a career-high on the vault, a 9.050.

January 27, 2014-February 2, 2014

Specialist: Taylor Custer, Junior, Hudson, Ohio
With the Blugolds defeating Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) 180.275-172.250 on Saturday, Custer placed for the first time in her collegiate career as she took third on the balance beam with a score of 9.100, a season-high. She received 10.0 start values on the beam.

January 20, 2014-January 26, 2014

Specialist: Olivia Aschenbrenner, Senior, Cedarburg, Wis./Grafton
Aschenbrenner helped the Blugolds to a 182.225-177.325 over Hamline University (Minn.) with one win and a third-place finish. She won the balance beam with a score of 9.500, a season-high, while taking third on the uneven bars with a score of 9.000. She also scored a 9.050 in an exhibition routine in the floor exercise.

January 13, 2014-January 19, 2014

Specialist: Kellie Dougherty, Sophomore, White Bear Lake, Minn.
With the Blugolds competing against two NCAA Division I opponents on Saturday at the University of Illinois, Dougherty recorded a ninth-place finish on the uneven bars to lead the Blugolds in that event. Her score on the bars of 9.600 was a career-high and the second best mark in school history. Dougherty also tied for eighth on the balance beam with a score of 9.600, a career-best, while tying for 12th in the floor exercise with a 9.450.

January 6, 2014-January 12, 2014

Specialist: Elizabeth Stubbs, Sophomore, Wayzata, Minn.
Competing at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Jan. 11, where the Blugolds took second place, Stubbs won the floor exercise with a score of 9.700. The Blugolds were in last place coming into the final rotation but strong performances on the floor, where Eau Claire scored a 47.100, helped the team finish in second place. On Jan. 5 at NCAA Division I Central Michigan University in the season-opener, Stubbs also had the highest mark for Eau Claire in the floor exercise, taking fifth with a score of 9.725. She also had strong performances on the balance beam and vault in both meets.
