February 13, 2012-February 19, 2012

Callie Halama, Forward, 5-11, Senior, Independence, Wis.
Halama helped the Blugolds to two wins this week as the Blugolds captured a share of the WIAC title for the first time since the 2007-08 season. Saturday in a 66-55 win over UW-Stevens Point on Senior Day, Halama had a career day as she led the Blugolds with 27 points and 13 rebounds, both of which were career-bests. Ten of her rebounds came on the offensive end. Halama played a key role in the second half as she scored 17 of her 27 points. Wednesday in a 75-48 win over UW-Platteville, Halama went 5-for-5 from the floor and 4-for-4 from the free throw line as she scored 14 points. She also pulled down six rebounds.

Ellen Plendl, Center, 6-5, Senior, Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell
Plendl recorded her 12th double-double of the season in a 72-40 victory over UW-Stout on Saturday. She finished the game shooting 6-for-8 from the floor and 6-for-8 from the free throw line to score a game-high 18 points. She also came away with a game-high 11 rebounds and five blocks.

Plendl tied her own school record for most blocks in a game Saturday as she finished with 10 against UW-River Falls. In that game, which the Blugolds narrowly lost 60-59, she also finished with nine points and six rebounds. Wednesday, in a 68-49 victory over UW-Oshkosh, Plendl scored 18 points while pulling down nine rebounds. She also had two blocks, a steal and an assist against the Titans.

Plendl set a new school record for most blocks in a career this week as the Blugolds won one out of two games. Wednesday in a 61-56 win over UW-Superior, Plendl had a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. She also had four blocks to tie a school record for most blocks in a career. Saturday, Plendl had another double-double but the Blugolds came away with a loss at UW-Whitewater. She reached game-highs in both scoring and rebounding, with 19 points and 12 boards. Plendl also had six blocks, breaking a school record for most blocks in a career with 219. The previous record was 213, set in 1995 by Arlene Meinholz. With 74 blocks for Plendl so far this season, she needs just eight more to break her own school record of 81, which she set last season.

January 16, 2012-January 22, 2012

Callie Halama, Forward, 5-11, Senior, Independence, Wis.
Halama helped the Blugolds to a win to keep them at the top of the WIAC as they defeated UW-La Crosse 49-36 Saturday. She scored a game-high 14 points, 11 of them coming in the second half. Halama also pulled down eight rebounds to tie for the second most in the game and also had two steals. The 36 points allowed by the Blugolds tied for the 31st fewest points given up in program history.

Plendl helped lead the 25th-ranked Blugolds to two wins last week, taking down UW-Oshkosh 52-47 Wednesday and following with a 63-57 win over 17th-ranked UW-River Falls on Saturday. In the win over Oshkosh, Plendl was the Blugolds' second-leading scorer and rebounder as she finished with 10 points and nine boards. She also had seven blocks. Saturday, Plendl tied her career high with 18 rebounds (three offensive, 15 defensive) while scoring seven points. She also had five blocks against the Falcons. For the week, Plendl finished with seven assists and three steals.

Plendl played a large role as the Blugolds split against conference opponents this week. In a 77-43 win over UW-Stout on Wednesday, she finished with a double-double as she scored 14 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. At UW-Stevens Point on Saturday, while the Blugolds fell just short 64-60, Plendl recorded her eighth double-double of the season as she scored 18 points while coming away with 10 rebounds. For the week she was 12-for-16 from the floor and 8-for-10 from the free throw line. She also had 11 blocks, one steal and one assist.

December 26, 2011-January 1, 2012

Nicole Christianson, Guard, 5-10, Senior, Chetek, Wis.
Christianson played a critical role in helping the Blugolds go 3-0 on their Texas trip. For the week, she led the Blugolds in scoring with 39 points, an average of 13 per game. She also had a team-high 19 assists and six steals along with three blocks. Facing Austin College on Saturday, she led the game with 17 points, nine assists and four steals. Christianson reached double-figures in scoring in the other two games earlier in the week, recording 11 points both times. The Blugolds are now 11-2 on the season and pushed their winning streak to eight straight games.

Plendl helped the Blugolds to a 76-38 victory over UW-Superior on Wednesday to keep the Blugolds with a perfect conference record (4-0) on the year, the Blugolds' best start in conference play since the 2008-09 season. In the game, playing 29 minutes, Plendl recorded a double-double as she scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. The double-double was her fifth of the season. She also came away with four blocks and two assists.

December 5, 2011-December 11, 2011

Callie Halama, Forward, 5-11, Senior, Independence, Wis.
Halama played a key role in helping the Blugolds stay undefeated in WIAC play as they beat UW-Platteville 71-62 Wednesday and followed that with a 75-70 over 21st-ranked UW-Whitewater on Saturday. In Saturday's game, she recorded a double-double with a career-high 23 points while pulling down 11 rebounds. She was 9-for-12 from the field and 5-for-7 from the free throw line. Against Platteville, she scored 19 points, the second highest total for the Blugolds as she went 7-for-7 from the free throw line and 6-for-8 from the field. She also pulled down six rebounds. For the week, Halama also finished with three assists and one steal.

November 28, 2011-December 4, 2011

Callie Halama, Forward, 5-11, Senior, Independence, Wis.
Halama finished with a double-double as the Blugolds beat UW-La Crosse 53-47 Saturday in both teams' WIAC opener. She scored 12 points to tie for a team high and grabbed 11 rebounds. She also had one block and went 6-for-7 from the field.

November 21, 2011-November 27, 2011

Nicole Christianson, Guard, 5-10, Senior, Chetek, Wis.
Christianson averaged 10.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game as the Blugolds finished the week with a 2-1 record. Christianson was the Blugolds' leading scorer with 19 points against NCAA Division II opponent Minnesota State University-Mankato. She scored seven points in a 49-44 win over St. Norbert College on Tuesday and had six points in a 63-35 win over Cornell College (Iowa) on Sunday. Christianson also finished the week with eight assists and six steals, both of which were team-highs.

November 14, 2011-November 20, 2011

Sarah Bingea, Forward, 6-0, Junior, Delano, Minn.
Bingea helped the Blugolds open the season with a 2-1 record last week. In the Blugolds' season-opener at St. Scholastica, a 68-58 win, she led the game with 16 points while pulling down eight rebounds. Friday against Ripon College, she helped the Blugolds to a 64-62 win, scoring a career and game-high 23 points, 17 of which came in the second half. While the Blugolds fell just short 78-69 to 17th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, she led the Blugolds with 18 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Blugolds' Tip-Off Tournament. For the week, she averaged 19 points and five rebounds per game. She was a perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line and finished the week with 11 assists, four steals and one block.
