Allie Long, like Brandt, was a four-year soccer letterwinner who enjoyed a successful season in another sport after her soccer career was over. She was a two-time All-Conference and All-State soccer performer. She used her soccer abilities to broaden her horizons by traveling with a collegiate select soccer team that went undefeated on a tour of Europe in 1993. She earned All-Conference honors when she switched to track last spring. She ran everything from 800 to 5,000 meters and was a member of conference championship relay teams both indoors and outdoors. She was also a national qualifier in the 1,500 meters. Long graduated in December with a degree in social work and is currently busy applying for positions in her chosen field.
