Mon, Dec 2, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Blugold Super Six Josh Holforty Josh Holforty came to Eau Claire as a two-sport athlete in football and wrestling. With the football program, he was utilized at fullback his freshman and junior seasons and at outside linebacker as a sophomore. However, the football season overlapped into wrestling which normally begins practice in mid-October. Since wrestling was his forte, he left the football program in 2007 to concentrate on wrestling and it paid off. He posted a 30-10 record last year, advancing to the NCAA Division III nationals where he finished sixth to earn All-American honors. He received a medical redshirt for the 2005-06 season after being sidelined with an injury following his seventh match. He also missed part of the 2006-07 season with illness but finished with a 17-7 record. He had a 23-7 mark as a freshman and owns a 75-26 career record heading into his final season. He will serve as a Blugold captain this year. Holforty is a kinesiology major with a 3.02 cumulative GPA. He will graduate next May with a health promotion emphasis and coaching minor. |
