Blugold Super Six
Kady Hickman (Monson)
Kady Hickman concluded an outstanding four-year tennis career this past fall by playing on her fourth consecutive conference championship team. She was a significant contributor to that four-year run by winning three conference singles titles, two at the No. 1 position, and two conference doubles championships, both at the No. 1 flight. She was a two-time team co-captain and MVP and was ranked nationally in both singles and doubles. She won over 75 percent of her singles matches throughout her Blugold career. She was an easy winner this past fall of the Conference Scholar-Athlete award, not only because of her athletic accomplishments but also because of her acadeinic and other extracurricular activities on campus. She was an officer in both the math and education honor societies. She was a volunteer for Special Olympics, the math meet, the hospitality network for the homeless, and new horizons outreach center. She was a math lab tutor, math scholarship recipient and research assistant. Hickman will graduate in May, 1998 with a degree in math education and is looking forward to teaching and coaching.
