Sun, May 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Basketball Looks To Rebound Against Oshkosh Posted: Thursday, January 5, 2006 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team will look to bounce back as it will host UW-Oshkosh in the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader to be held in Zorn Arena Saturday night. The Blugolds have an 8-4 overall record and a 1-3 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) record, following a 70-62 loss to UW-Whitewater on Wednesday night. UW-Oshkosh will come in with an overall record of 8-4 and a WIAC record of 2-2. The Titans are coming off a 54-50 victory against UW-Platteville on Wednesday night. Jared Bardon (So.-DeForest, WI) and Zack Ryan (So.-Lake Elmo, MN/Tartan) are each averaging double-figures in scoring this season. Bardon leads the team averaging 13.3 points per game and Ryan is second on the team averaging 11.8 points per game. Ryan is shooting 54.5% from three which leads the conference. The Blugolds as a team lead the conference in offensive rebounds averaging 12 offensive rebounds per game. The Titans are led in scoring by Andy Jahnke, who is averaging 15 points per game. Jahnke leads the conference in three-pointers made with 37. The Titans are second in the conference in field goal percentage defense holding opponents to just 39.3% shooting from the field. The Blugolds have struggled lately against the Titans losing eight of the last nine. The Blugolds only victory in that span was a 64-54 victory in 2004. The men's game gets underway at approximately 7 p.m. following the women's contest against the Titans. Both games will take place in Zorn Arena - JR - |
