Heatwole, Severson Named WIAC Athletes Of The Week

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire women's swimmer Cori Severson (Sr. -Brainerd, MN) and men's diver Scott Heatwole (Sr. -Port Washington) were both named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Swimmer and Men's Diver of the Week, it was announced by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.
Severson won top honors in two events individually to go along with a first-place relay finish in a dual meet against UW-La Crosse on December 10. She won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle with times of 25.22 and 55.47, respectively. Severson was also a member of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team that posted a time of 1:42.47.
Heatwole claimed first place in the one-meter dive with a score of 261.85 to go along with top honors in the three-meter competition with a score of 267.65 in a dual meet against UW-La Crosse on December 10. He was just short of qualifying for nationals in both events.
