Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Basketball To Host Carleton Tuesday Night Posted: Sunday, December 11, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team will host Carleton College Tuesday night in the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader to be held in Zorn Arena. The Blugolds are 4-5 overall and are coming off an upset victory over previously unbeaten Carroll College on Saturday. The Knights will come in with a record of 5-3, following a loss to Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday. Michelle Burns (So.-Eau Claire, WI/North) continues to be the go-to-girl for the Blugolds as she averaging 15.2 points per game, including a 24-point performance against Carroll on Saturday. Senior Rachel Becker (Sr.-Gilmanton, WI) has played well on both sides of the ball as she is third on the team scoring averaging 7.5 points per game and she has 21 steals to lead the Blugolds on defense. Freshman Brittanni Hakanson (Fr.-Wheeler, WI/Boyceville) has been a key person off the bench for the Blugolds as she is second on the team in scoring averaging 10 points per game. The Blugolds defense has played well this season holding their opponents to just 43.1% shooting from the field and has forced a total of 167 turnovers. Leading the way for the Knights is Megan Vig, who is averaging 14 points per game. Hannah Oken-Berg is right behind her averaging 13.8 points per game. This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. The action gets underway after the men's game with St. Scholastica at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday night in Zorn Arena. - JR - |
