Sat, May 18, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Swimming & Diving Overcome By Eagles In Dual Meet Posted: Saturday, December 10, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams all fell to the UW-La Crosse Eagles in today's dual meet held in the McPhee Pool. The women put up 95 points compared to the 148 of La Crosse. The men came closer as they lost 133-108. Scott Heatwole (Sr.-Port Washington) continued his success with a first place dive in the three-meter event. He scored 267.65. Heatwole also placed first in the one-meters on a 261.85 performance. Patrick Finley (Fr.-Waunakee) was tops in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:52.90 race. Cale Schmidt-Jackson (Jr.-Duluth, MN/East) took first in the 200-yard Individual Medley swim. He had a 2:06.08 time. Brian Hauerwas (So.-Racine/CASE) swam a 2:06.82 200-yard butterfly to claim the top honor in that event. Cori Severson (Sr.-Brainerd, MN) was the 50-yard freestyle champ on a 25.22 effort. She also was the fastest 100-yard freestyle swimmer with a 55.47 day. Emmie Lee (So.-Zimmerman, MN/Elk River) was the top participant in the 200-yard backstroke. She swam it in 2:19.86. The relay team of Ane Klomps (So.-Rochester, MN/Mayo), Diehl, Annie Gorman (Sr.-Menomonie) and Severson took first in the 200-yard freestyle race. Their collective time was 1:42.47. Both the men and the women are 0-2 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meets. The women are 1-2 in all dual meets and the men are 0-3 on the season in their dual meets. The swimming and diving teams will travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico on January 3rd for their Winter Training Trip. The next mainland event is January 20th when the swimmers and divers travel to face Macalester College at 5:00 p.m. - PH - |
