EAU CLAIRE - Over half the home games will be complete for the UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team when it finishes its six-game homestand this Friday versus UW-Stevens Point.

The Blugolds have yet to find a victory this season, despite several close games. They are 0-9-3 overall and 0-5-1 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA). The team has lost to UW-River Falls twice, St. Thomas twice, Bethel College, UW-Stout, Lake Forest College, St. Scholastica and UW-Superior. Ties have come against St. Mary's University, Hamline University and St. Norbert College.

Eau Claire is 0-4-1 at home this season, which only comprises of the current stretch of home games. The longest drought of the season so far has been a five-game skid.

The points leaders for Eau Claire are Steve Dus (Jr.-Onalaska) and Brooks Lockwood (Jr.-Hudson). Each has seven points and each has four goals with three assists. Three others are tied behind them with six.

The two main goalies for Eau Claire have been Steffan Braunlich (Sr.-Los Angeles, CA/Loyola) and Chris Nelson (Sr.-Madison/Memorial). Braunlich holds a .891 save percentage coupled with a 3.83 goals per game average. Nelson has allowed 4.80 goals per contest while posting a .850 save percentage.

While the Blugolds find themselves last in the NCHA standings with one point, Stevens Point is tied for second with six. Lake Forest also has six points, along with Stout. The team is 6-5-0 overall and 3-3-0 in the NCHA. Losses have come to Superior, Bethel, River Falls, Stout, and Lake Forest. The Pointers have conquered St. Thomas, St. Mary's, Hamline, St. Norbert, St. Scholastica and Superior in the second such match up of the season. The year has not seen a winning or losing streak.

Sean Fish and Matt Stendahl are the points leaders for Stevens Point. They both have nine on the year. Marcus Paulson defends the nets for the Pointers. He has allowed just fewer than three goals a game while carrying a .893 save percentage.

Since 1981, Eau Claire is 24-52-3 against Stevens Point. The team lost both games last season and has lost many in the past eight years to this opponent. The Pointers have won 23 of the past 24.

The ice action starts at 7:00 p.m. in Hobbs Ice Center this Friday.
