Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Volleyball Falls To 18th Ranked UW-La Crosse Posted: Saturday, September 20, 2003 The UW-Eau Claire women's volleyball team fell to the 18th ranked UW-La Crosse Falcons in four games here today at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center. The Blugolds dropped the first game 30-27 despite forcing the Falcons into 14 errors and a .000 hitting percentage. Eau Claire had 13 kills and a .176 hitting percentage in the opening game. Eau Claire fired back in the second game by playing their best volleyball of the match. The Blugolds had 16 kills to only two errors for a .452 hitting percentage and a 30-21 win.Eau Claire and La Crosse fought back and forth in the third game but the Blugolds fell30-28 despite 19 kills. In the fourth and final game the Falcons were too much winning 30-20. Brooke Wozniak-Schmidt (Sr.-Stanley/Stanley-Boyd) led the Blugold attack with a .278 hitting percentage. Molly Menard (So.-Eau Claire/Memorial) led Eau Claire in kills with 15.Amy Olson (So.-Plymouth, MN/Maple Grove) led the Blugolds in assists with 25 while Missy Malvitz (Jr.-Elkhorn) led in digs with 17. For the game Eau Claire had a .203 hitting percentage compared to only .163 for the Falcons but La Crosse held a 9-3 advantage in aces.The Blugolds will host Lisa Siegenthaler Friday and Saturday at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center. Action is set to start at 2 p.m. Friday. |
