EAU CLAIRE - In the first overtime game for either team, Lake Forest defeated the UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team 3-2 at Hobbs Ice Center today.

After a scoreless opening period for both teams, Eau Claire got on the board first in the second. Laura Brackey (Sr.-Oakdale, MN/Tartan) scored an evenhanded goal on an assist from Margaret Campbell (Fr.-Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) at 4:05. However, the Foresters tied it up on a Blugold power-play as they made it 1-1 with the shorthanded goal. This score came 5:28 into the period. At 12:41 the Foresters scored on an advantage of their own to go ahead.

In the third Martina Korinek (Jr.-White Bear Lake, MN) made an even-handed score at 7:38 off an assist from Tara Hayner (Jr.-Stillwater, MN) to tie it up. Despite a combined 29 shots on goal in the third, neither team failed to score again, forcing added play.

Lake Forest won it in overtime before Eau Claire could even get a shot on goal. The Foresters took the victory 2:31 into the period on a power-play.

Jill Arendt (So.-Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) made 39 saves on 42 shots in the net. The Blugolds put up 34 shots.
