Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Wrestling Taken Down By Whitewater Posted: Friday, December 2, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team was defeated tonight by conference opponent UW-Whitewater 24-17 in the team's first conference meet. The loss drops the Blugolds to an overall dual meet record of 1-5 and a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) record of 0-1. The Warhawks improve to an overall dual meet record of 3-0 and are now 1-0 in WIAC action. Picking up victories for the Blugolds were Tony D'Antuono (Sr.-Waukesha, WI/South) at 141 pounds, Derek Sikora (Sr.-Neillsville, WI) at 165 pounds, Joey Miller (So.-Lake Tomahawk, WI/Lakeland Union) at 184 pounds, and Nick Hoeft (So.-Merrill, WI) at heavyweight. D'Antuono defeated his opponent by technical fall 19-4. A person wins by technical fall when the margin between the two wrestlers is 15 points or more. Sikora, in his first match of the season, defeated of his opponent 10-3. Joey Miller picked up his seventh win and his third pin of the season when he pinned his opponent at 4:45. Hoeft improved to 6-3 on the season when he defeated his opponent 2-1. Up next the Blugolds will host UW-La Crosse Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
