PAUL, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team had just six shots on goal en route to a 2-0 loss to No. 16 Macalester College here today in St. Paul. The Blugolds fall to 3-4 overall while Macalester improves to 4-0-1 on the season. Neither team was able to get on the board until the 25th minute when Macalester's Katie Pastorius scored an unassisted goal on a corner kick to give the Scots a 1-0 lead. Both defenses were stingy the rest of the way and match headed into halftime with the score still 1-0. Eight minutes into the second half the Scots struck again with yet another unassisted goal, this time by Sarah Marsh. Eau Claire was unable to mount any offense as they were held to just six shots on goal and did not have a corner kick in the 90 minutes of play. Blugold goalkeeper Megan Brady (Sr/Jr.-Dousman/Waukesha Catholic) made five saves on ten Macalester shots while allowing two goals. The Blugolds look to get the offense going this Sunday when they host Simpson for Parents Weekend. The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Bollinger Fields.
