Wrestling To Host Whitewater Friday

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire wresting team will host fellow Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opponent UW-Whitewater this Friday night in the McPhee Physical Education Center in the team's conference opener.
The Blugolds this season have a 1-4 record in dual matches and are 5-13 overall. The Warhawks will come into Friday night's meet with a 2-0 dual meet record.
Joey Miller (So.-Lake Tomahawk, WI/Lakeland Union) at 184 pounds and Lance Valiquette (Jr.-Auburn, WA) at 165 pounds each have six wins for the Blugolds this season. Joey Miller was the only Blugold member to come away with a victory in the team's last dual meet against fifth-ranked Luther College. Valiquette and Joey Miller have a total of three pins combined under one minute this season.
The Warhawks are coming off a 25-10 dual meet victory over Lakeland College. In the Whitewater's only other dual meet of the season, the Warhawks defeated the University of Chicago by a score of 22-12.
The Blugolds have lost two-straight dual meets against the Warhawks with their last victory coming in the 2002-03 season.
The action gets underway Friday night at 6 p.m. in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
