Please include a source of proof (newspaper, yearbook, etc.) to support your claim. ![]() Sun, Feb 16, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Cross Country Claims 19th At Regionals Posted: Saturday, November 12, 2005 PEORIA, IL - The UW-Eau Claire men's cross country team placed 19th out of 34 teams with 554 points in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Meet held at Detweiller Park, which was hosted by Greenville College. The Blugolds came in between UW-Stout's 501 score and UW-Superior's 601 total. UW-La Crosse defended its regional crowd with 42 points. UW-Oshkosh came in second at 79. North Central College placed third with a 140 point day, while the University of Chicago finished fourth at 145. Wheaton College rounded out the top five with 147 points. These top five teams move on to nationals next Saturday. Kevin Hall (Fr.-Green Bay/Preble) again ran a good race and finished first for the team. He ran a 27:00 race to capture 99th overall. It is his best time this year in the 8-K. Jules Miller (So.-Green Bay/East) was right behind Kevin Hall, with a 27:01 finish. He took 100th overall with his fastest race of the season. Ted Lillie (Jr.-North St. Paul, MN) placed 111th overall and third for the team. He ran a 27:13 race, also his season-best. The fourth Blugold runner was Nate Hall (Sr.-Green Bay/Preble) with a 27:18 finish. He was the 114th person to cross the finish line. At 27:41, Adam Wolfe (So.-Marshfield) finished in 130th place. He was the last runner to gain points for Eau Claire. Tom Anderson (Sr.-Platteville) finished sixth for the team and 165th overall. He ran the race in 28:37. Tyler Sigl of UW-Platteville was the overall champ at 25:04. The top seven individuals who did not qualify with one of the five teams will race in nationals. Sigl advances with Garcia Gary of UW-Whitewater, Brennan Bonner of Washington University, Dave Billings of Ripon College, Josh Martsolf of Greenville College, Kevin Gale of Washington University, and Matt Kramer of Superior. These seven individuals and the previously mentioned top five teams will compete in the NCAA Division III Nationals next Saturday in Delaware, OH. The WIAC showed up big at the event, with two teams claiming the top two spots. The first six runners overall were WIAC runners, as well. Three of the seven qualifying individuals were from the conference. For other conference teams, Platteville and Whitewater finished seventh and eighth respectively, with numbers of 221 and 240. The 277 total by UW-Stevens Point gave the team 10th. UW-River Falls had a 478 point day with a 16th place finish. The Blugolds finished with a 47-63 record this season. - PH - |
