Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date All-WIAC Honors For Four Blugolds Posted: Wednesday, November 9, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - Four member of the UW-Eau Claire volleyball team earned all-conference honors this season, one in which the team returns to the national tournament for the first time since 1997. Molly Menard (Sr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) joined the All-WIAC Volleyball Team this season. In 2003, she gained an honorable mention. Menard leads the conference with 4.17 kills a game. Her .241 hitting percentage is 17th in the WIAC. She has racked up 455 kills this season. Jenny Wolter (Sr.-Osceola) joins Menard in earning all-conference honors. Her .364 hitting percentage is second in the conference. She is fifth in kills per game at 3.54 and 15th in blocks per game with .88. She was an honorable mention last year. She has 397 kills in all. Gaining honorable mention accolades this year is Carly Freiborg (Jr.-Sacred Heart, MN/Renville County West). The 12.46 assists per game are second in the conference. The 1,383 total is the fourth most this season among WIAC participants. The .49 service aces per game is third. Shanna Berger (Jr.-Baldwin/Baldwin-Woodville) is one of the four people in the conference selected to the All-Defensive Team. She ranks fifth in the conference in the digs per game category at 4.26. The .43 service aces she puts up per game is ninth in the WIAC. This is her second straight year with such honors. |
