ST. PAUL, MN - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team ended its regular season today with its 12th shutout of the year in defeating Hamline University 3-0.

The Blugolds end the regular season with an overall record of 13-2-4 and a conference record of 6-0-2. The loss drops Hamline to 7-11 overall.

The Blugolds once again out-shot their opponents, this time by a margin of 22-6. The Blugolds had 16 shots in the second half alone compared to Hamline, who only had one shot in the half.

The Blugolds first goal of the match came at 15:01 when Emily Meisinger (Jr.-Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) found the back of the net for her third goal of the season. Marcia Foltz (Sr.-Madison/Memorial) was credited with the assist.

The Blugolds didn't get their second goal of the contest until 61:17 when Maria Iaizzo (Jr.-White Bear Lake, MN) scored her fifth goal of the season. Liz Kooistra (Fr.-Lakeville, MN) assisted in the goal.

The Blugolds got their final goal of the match with just under five minutes remaining when the two players that hooked up for the first goal, connected again. This time Foltz got the goal and Meisinger had the assist. It was Foltz's eighth goal of the season.

Blugold goalkeeper Allie Rivard (Fr.-Wayzata, MN) had four saves on the day to preserve the shutout.

Up next for the Blugolds is the WIAC tournament. The regular season champion Blugolds will host the semifinal and championship matches. The Blugolds have a first round bye in the tournament and will draw the lowest remaining seed from Tuesday's first round games, Friday (Nov. 4) at 11 a.m. at the Bollinger Fields.
