Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Volleyball Loses A Tough Match Posted: Friday, October 14, 2005 OSHKOSH - The UW-Eau Claire volleyball team lost a close one today to WIAC rival UW-Oshkosh in five sets with scores of 25-30, 30-27, 31-33, 30-22, and 12-15. The offensive hitting percentages ranged from .071 to .257. Oshkosh hit under .262 for the first four sets and was held to .000 in set four. In the nail biting finale they hit .304 to take the match. With a personal .486 hitting percentage, Jenny Wolter (Sr.-Osceola) led all Blugolds with 20 kills. The sets leader was Carly Freiborg (Jr.-Sacred Heart, MN/Renville County West) with 50. Shanna Berger (Jr.-Baldwin/Baldwin-Woodville) had the most digs with 17, while Heather Harnell (So.-Minnetonka, MN) followed Berger with 13. The defense had a total of 20 team blocks. Jessica Groh (Jr.-Eau Claire/North) had eight block assists along with Ashley Danielson (Jr.-Cadott). Eau Claire is now 5-2 in the WIAC while Oshkosh improves to 5-1. The overall record for the Blugolds is 17-3. Volleyball will next play on Wednesday, October 19th when the team returns home to face UW-River Falls. Action begins at 7:00 p.m. - PH - |
