The Blugolds are currently 8-1-2 overall and have a conference record of 4-0. The Blugolds are coming off a couple big conference wins over UW-Oshkosh and UW-River Falls. Both victories were decided by one goal, including an overtime win over River Falls. The Blugolds defense continues to impress, not allowing a goal in the past three matches, and only allowing four all season. The Blugolds have shown a lot of chemistry between their upperclassmen and their youngsters. Senior Marcia Foltz (Sr.-Madison/Memorial) has been a key player this season and is leading the team in points with 10. The leading goal scorer on the team is freshman Amy Smith (Fr.-Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) with four, while another freshman Liz Kooistra (Fr.-Lakeville, MN) is tied for second in points with eight. Loras College comes in with an overall record of 8-2. The Duhawks are coming off a win over Lake Forest (IL) by a score of 4-0. This will be only the second match up between the two schools. Loras won the first meeting last season 4-1. The action gets underway at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bollinger Fields. - JR - |
