Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Cruises In Victory Over Stevens Point Posted: Friday, October 7, 2005 STEVENS POINT - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team won its second consecutive meet as it defeated conference opponent UW-Stevens Point today 8-1. The cold weather didn't seem to slow down the Blugolds as they swept the doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches. At No.1 singles Katie Kuzma (Sr.-Buffalo, MN) took care of her opponent 6-2, 6-4. No. 2 singles player Kristie Carlson (So.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) won her match in straight sets 6-3, 7-5. Molly Hunt (Jr.-Owatonna, MN), Alli Taplin (Jr.-Dayton, MN/Champlin Park), and Laura Geissler (Jr.-Coon Rapids, MN) were the other Blugold singles players to win. Kuzma and Geissler then teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles by a score of 8-4. Hunt and Carlson also teamed up and won at No. 2 doubles by a score of 8-5. Liz Deprey (So.-Green Bay/Notre Dame) and Kristin Neuman (So.-Green Bay/Ashwaubenon) were the other Blugold doubles team to win. Their final score was 8-6. With the victory the Blugolds improve to a dual match record of 4-3 overall and a conference record of 3-1. The loss drops the Pointers to 4-3 overall and a conference record of 0-2.
