Volleyball To Wrap Up HomeStand thursday

EAU CLAIRE - Non-conference opponent Bemidji State goes up against the University of Eau Claire volleyball team this Thursday at the McPhee Physical Education Building.
The Blugolds are currently 6-1 on this eight game homestand and 10-1 at home this season. The team is 16-2 and remains in second in the WIAC standings, only behind UW-Oshkosh. The big hitters for Eau Claire have been doing their job as the team leads the conference in hitting percentage with .279 on the year.
Molly Menard (Sr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) heads up these big hitters with 252 kills and 4.06 kills a game, while Jenny Wolter (Sr.-Osceola) has 222 and 3.42 in each category. The 816 sets by Carly Freiborg (Jr.-Sacred Heart, MN/Renville County West) are the most for the team. Wolter and Jessica Groh (Jr.-Eau Claire/North) have been holding the opposing offenses at bay with 58 and 63 blocks on the season, respectively. Wolter also leads in aces, collecting 28 on the season. The digs leader is Shanna Berger (Jr.-Baldwin/Baldwin-Woodville) and her 275.
The last time Eau Claire faced Bemidji was in 1997. The teams are 3-3 versus each other lifetime. A 1-20 record has made for a rough season thus far for Bemidji.
The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. this Thursday in McPhee.
