Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date AnoTher Scoreless Tie For Soccer Posted: Wednesday, September 28, 2005 DECORAH, IA - For the second time this season the UW-Eau Claire soccer team had to settle for a double-overtime scoreless tie, this time to the hands of Luther College in Iowa tonight. The Blugolds opened the season with a scoreless tie against Augsburg College. In that match, the Blugolds dominated the Auggies out shooting them 28-14, but were unable to put the ball in the net. This match was no different. The Blugolds outplayed Luther the entire match. The Blugolds had a huge advantage in shots over the Norse, out shooting them 32-8 including an 18-shot second half. The Norse's goalie was busy saving 17 shots with five of which in the overtime sessions. The Blugolds only allowed two shots after halftime. Allison Muer (Fr.-Minneapolis, MN/South) led the Blugolds in shots with eight. Allie Rivard (Fr.-Wayzata, MN) had four saves to preserve the tie. The Blugolds are now 6-1-2 on the season with a conference record still at 2-0. Luther's record is now 4-3-2. The series record between the two teams is an even 4-4-1. Up next for the Blugolds is a conference match-up Friday at UW-Oshkosh. The action is scheduled to begin at 2:00. - JR - |
