Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Two WIAC Opponents On Tap For Volleyball Posted: Tuesday, September 27, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - On September 30th, Eau Claire looks to take on UW-Platteville and then on October 1st Eau Claire battles UW-La Crosse. The Blugolds are currently 14-2 overall and 3-1 versus WIAC teams. They just completed the Siegenthaler Memorial Tournament where Eau Claire went 3-1 and tied for first with Millikin. Molly Menard {[(Sr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) leads the team with 213 kills thus far and 4.02 a game. Behind her are Jenny Wolter (Sr.-Osceola) with 192 and Jodi Dunbar (Jr.-Platteville) at 176. Carly Freiborg (Jr.-Sacred Heart, MN/Renville County West) leads in sets with 697 and also in aces with 31. Shanna Berger (Jr.-Baldwin/Baldwin-Woodville) has the most digs with a 229 total. The team has put together 133.5 blocks on the season. Platteville is 10-3 on the year and at .500 versus the WIAC teams with a 2-2 record. Eau Claire is 20-11 versus the Pointers. La Crosse meanwhile is 11-3 and 2-1 in the WIAC. The Blugolds have an overall record of 24-39 against La Crosse with La Crosse winning the last five and the past 12 of 13. Eau Claire looks to snap that streak on the 1st at 2:00 p.m. but first they will have to face Platteville on the 30th, this one at 7:00 p.m. Both matches are in the McPhee Physical Education Building. |
