Mon, May 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Blanks Stout Posted: Friday, September 12, 2003 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team opened conference play in dominating fashion as they shut out the Blue Devils from UW-Stout 9-0 here today at the McPhee Physical Education Center. The Blugolds have yet to lose to a competitor as they took first in the eight team Warhawk Invite last weekend. Eau Claire has won ten straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles. The Blugolds won every set of every match by at least three games. Jenny Stafford (Sr.-Middleton) rolled in both singles and doubles, winning in the No. 1 singles spot 6-0, 6-0 while winning in the No. 1 doubles spot 8-0 with teammate Katie Kuzma (So.-Buffalo, MN/Gustavus Adolphus). Kuzma faired well on her own in the No. 2 singles spot dropping just one game in the two sets.Katie Steffes (So.-St. Joseph, MN/Apollo) cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the No. 3 singles spot while Molly Cadwell (Sr.-Fridley, MN) won in the No. 4 singles spot 6-2, 6-1. Molly Hunt (Fr.-Owatonna, MN) and Lindsay Lee (Eau Claire/Memorial) continued the Blugold domination in singles as they won in straight sets in the No. 5 and 6 spots respectively. The No. 2 doubles belonged to Cadwell and Laura Geissler (Fr.-Coon Rapids, MN) who won 8-3. Steffes and Hunt claimed the No. 3 doubles match by the same score.The Blugolds next match will return them to non-conference play when they will battle Luther College in Decorah, Iowa on September 20.
