Women's Golf Finishes Second At Oshkosh Invite

OSHKOSH - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team finished second today in the ten-team Oshkosh Invitational after starting the day in first place.
The Blugolds had a three-shot lead over UW-Oshkosh after day one of the invite, but ended up second to the Titans finishing 12-shots back.
The Blugolds had three of the top four overall finishers in the invite. Finishing second overall was Meghan Sobotta (So.-Arcadia), who finished one-shot back of the champion. Sobotta was tied for first after the first round with a 5-over 77. It was her second-straight second place finish
Finishing tied for third just two-shots back were Maggie Loney (Sr.-River Falls) and Jessica Thompson (Jr.-Plover/SPASH). Thompson was also tied for the lead after the first round. Thompson now has back-to-back top five finishes. Loney had the second best final round overall shooting a 9-over par 81.
The Blugolds next event will be the Illinois Wesleyan Invite next Saturday (Sep. 17) and Sunday (Sep. 18) in Bloomington, IL.
