Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Defense stellar Again In Soccer Victory Posted: Sunday, September 11, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team extended its shutout streak by defeating Illinois Wesleyan 1-0 today at the Bollinger Fields. The Blugolds have not allowed a goal now for 290 consecutive minutes and have not allowed a goal yet this season. The Blugolds only had two shots on goal, but it was enough for the victory.
Goalie Liz Weirick (So.-Kenosha, WI/Tremper) had four saves, while backup goalie Allie Rivard (Fr.-Wayzata, MN) added three saves for the Blugolds. The Titans had a couple of scoring chances in the second half, but were unable to capitalize. With the win the Blugolds are now 2-0-1 on the season. The Titans with the lose fall to 3-2. This was the first ever match up between the two teams. The Blugolds next match will be a conference match up Friday, September 16 against UW-Platteville.
