Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Soccer Shuts Down St. thomas For First Win Posted: Thursday, September 8, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team picked up its first victory of the season Thursday night at the Bollinger Fields shutting down St. Thomas 3-0, and in doing so, ending a two-game losing streak to the Tommies. The Blugolds continued their defensive dominance this season holding St. Thomas to just one shot on goal. The Tommies had a tough time getting any kind of scoring opportunities on the Blugolds. The Blugolds have now held their opponents scoreless for 200 straight minutes this season. The Blugolds out shot the Tommies 15-1 in the game. Amy Smith (Fr./Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) who has a twin on the team, was part of a triple tonight. She had all three goals for the Blugolds. It was her first career goals. The first two goals were scored in the middle and late first half. The third goal was scored early in the second half. Marcia Foltz (Sr./Madison, WI/Memorial) assisted on all of the Blugolds goals. She also had three shots on goal. The Blugolds are now 1-0-1 on the season. The Blugolds next opponent will be Illinois Wesleyan.
