Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Rawdon Resigns As Women's Golf Coach Posted: Thursday, September 8, 2005 John Rawdon has resigned as the UW-Eau Claire women's golf coach for personal reasons, Director of Athletics Scott Kilgallon has announced. Rawdon left the program Wednesday according to Kilgallon. The Blugolds had just hosted a two-day 17-team invitational last weekend at the Mill Run and Wild Ridge golf courses and will be in competition the next four weekends with six meets during that time period. The Blugolds are the defending Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champs and tied for third at last spring's NCAA Division III championships. Rawdon was the WIAC Coach of the Year in both 2002-03 and 2003-04. Because the fall season will be over in less than a month, Kilgallon said he will be unable to do a search this fall and will use current athletics staff to cover the sport. Assistant softball coach and business manager Robin Baker will travel with the team to its matches at Knox College and UW-Oshkosh this weekend. She will also work with the team during the week. Kilgallon said he is likely to make several of the trips with the team when Baker is involved in fall softball tryouts. - TP - |
