Mon, May 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Loney Named First Team All-American Posted: Monday, June 13, 2005 CHICAGO, IL - UW-Eau Claire women's golf member Maggie Loney (Jr. -River Falls) was named to the first team Division III All-American Team by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). Loney was one of five golfers named a first team All-American. At the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships Loney finished the four-day event in fourth place. Loney earned honorable mention All-America honors in 2004 and was the NGCA Freshman of the Year in 2003. Loney joins Jennifer Prock as the only Blugolds to earn first team All-American honors. Prock accomplished the feet in 2003. Loney caps off the 2004-05 season earning top medalist honors at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships in addition to receiving first team All-American honors. Loney took medalist honors in five invitationals last season. The Blugolds have qualified for the 10-team NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships in each of the last five years. With Loney as a member of the team the Blugolds posted their best finish ever at the championships this past season tying for third place. The Blugolds finished fifth in 2004, sixth in 2003, seventh in 2002 and ninth in 2001. |
