Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Maintains Hold Of Third At Nationals Posted: Wednesday, May 11, 2005 SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team shot a 332 but couldn't make up any ground on the leaders as it remains in third place after two rounds of the NCAA Division III National Championship held here today at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club. Methodist College is still on top of the leaderboard with a two-round score of 631. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is in second with a 642 followed by the Blugolds with a 666. Methodist's Charlotte Williams moved into first individually with a 5-over 149. Maggie Loney (Jr.-River Falls) moved into a tie for second place after shooting a 5-over 77. Loney birdied two holes with only one double bogey. Jesse Thompson (So.-Stevens Point/SPASH) struggled in the second round shooting a 16-over 88 to finish the second day tied for 15th. Andrea Kloppman (Sr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) took four strokes off her first round shooting a 12-over 84 to finish the round tied for 32nd. Meghan Sobotta (Fr.-Arcadia) and Kelly Gerzsenyi (So.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) each improved on their first rounds. Sobotta shaved three strokes off her first round with a 14-over 86 including a 3-over back nine that featured two birdies. Gerzsenyi shot six strokes better in the second round with a 13-over 85. The tournament continues tomorrow with the third round.
