Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Golf Moves To 10th At Nationals Posted: Wednesday, May 11, 2005 HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team moved up two spots and into 10th place after the third round of the NCAA Division III National Championship held here today at Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort. Guilford College remains in first place with a three-day score of 884. Greensboro College is in second place with a 904 followed by the University of Redlands with a 907. LaGrange College's Michael Lemmo is in first individually with a 1-under 215. Derek Pirkl (Jr.-Stoughton) leads the Blugolds with a 12-over 228 leaving him in a tie for 27th. Pirkl shaved three strokes off his first two rounds with a 2-over 74 today that included three birdies. Mike Greer (So.-White Bear Lake, MN) had the best Blugold round of the day with a 1-over 73. Greer birdied three holes on the back nine and finished the round tied for 33rd. Tyler Leis (So.-Reedsburg) struggled today after a strong first two rounds. Leis shot an 11-over 83 today to finish the round tied for 54th. Grant Lissick (Jr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) rebounded from a rough front nine to finish the day with an 8-over 80. Lissick shot an 8-over in the front nine but shot even-par on the back nine that included four birdies. Aaron Olson (Sr.-Chetek) shot a 7-over 79 today to finish the third round in 96th place at 27-over par. The championship concludes tomorrow with the final round.
