Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Golf In Ninth After First Day Of Nationals Posted: Monday, May 9, 2005 HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team shot a 23-over and is alone in ninth place after the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships held here today at Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort. The Blugolds are 11 shots back of leader Nebraska Wesleyan. The Prairie Wolves shot a 12-over 300 in the opening round. Emory University is second at 13-over followed by Guilford College at 14-over. Loras' Pete Weber is in first individually after shooting a 4-under 68. Tyler Leis (So.-Reedsburg) leads Eau Claire after the first day shooting a 2-over 74 to end the first day in a tie for 10th. Derek Pirkl (Jr.-Stoughton) shot the next best Blugold round with a 5-over 77 to finish the round tied for 33rd. Mike Greer (So.-White Bear Lake, MN) is tied for 53rd after shooting a 7-over 79. Grant Lissick (Jr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) is tied for 71st after shooting a 9-over 81 while Aaron Olson (Sr.-Chetek) shot a 15-over 87 to finish the day tied for 110th. The second round will tee off at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.
