Tue, May 21, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Nelson Shines At Simpson Twilight Open Posted: Friday, April 29, 2005 INDIANOLA, Iowa - Ashley Nelson (Sr. -Darwin, MN/Litchfield) took second place in two events in leading the UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team at the Simpson Twilight Open held here today. Nelson took second in the 100-meter dash with a season-best 12.48 seconds. She also set a season-best time in 200-meter dash taking second with a time of 25.99 seconds. Karlee Sweere (Fr.-Potter/Hilbert) also ran well in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Sweere matched her season-best in the 100 with a time of 13.03 seconds and ran her season-best time in the 200 with a time of 27.04. Christina Locke (So.-Racine/Horlick) set her personal record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.95. Liz Faller (So.-Marinette) also ran a personal best in taking fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.13 seconds. Paula Crossfield (So.-Madison/East) added strong performances in the shot put and discus throw. Crossfield took fifth in the discus with a toss of 127-8 feet and finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 35-6 - feet. Mia King (Fr.-Stewartville, MN) set her season-best in the javelin throw by over six feet with a toss of 76-9 feet. Jessica Owens (Fr.-Elm Grove/Brookfield East) tied for fourth in the high jump clearing 5-1 - feet. The Blugolds will be in action next when they compete in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships Friday and Saturday.
