Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Track Takes Second At Esten Challenge Posted: Saturday, April 23, 2005 LA CROSSE - The UW-Eau Claire men's track and field team finished second at the Esten Challenge held here today at Veteran's Memorial Stadium on the UW-La Crosse campus. Shaun Marek (Sr.-Waunakee) took second in the long jump and third in the triple jump. Marek jumped 21-10 - feet in the long jump for his second place finish and cleared 43-9 - feet in the triple jump to take third. John Schuna (Sr.-Hudson) also had a strong showing with a first and fifth place finish. Schuna took first in the shot put with a provisionally qualifying toss of 53-10 - feet. He took fifth in the discus throw with a distance of 140-7 feet. Zach Severson (So.-Sun Prairie) finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:01.17. Matt Tiller (Fr.-Osseo/Osseo-Fairchild) added a third place finish in the high jump clearing 5-9 - feet. Adam Condit (Sr.-La Crosse/Central) had the highest Blugold finish in track events finishing fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.56. Teammate Jake Ebner (Jr.-Cameron) finished right behind Condit with a time of 2:02.33. The Blugolds will be in action next when they split up to compete in two meets. Eau Claire will participate in the Drake Relays and the Simpson Twilight Friday. The relays are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. while the Simpson Twilight will kick off at 3 p.m. - JL - |
