Men's Track Takes Seventh In St. Louis

ST. LOUIS - The UW-Eau Claire men's outdoor track and field team claimed seventh place out of nine teams at the Washington University (MO) Select Meet here today in Missouri.
The Blugolds posted a team score of 73 points on the day. Central College won the event with 129 points while host Washington University took second with 124.50. Ohio Northern rounded out the top three with a score of 115.
Shaun Marek (Sr.-Waunakee) earned a second place finish in the triple jump event with a distance of 13.86 meters (45-5 ?). The distance was nearly three feet behind the winner of the event.
Adam Condit (Sr.-La Crosse/Central) and Micah Hernandez (Jr.-Milwaukee/Wisconsin Lutheran) had solid showings in the 5,000-meter run, finishing third and fourth respectively. Condit took third in a time of 15:56.49 while Hernandez grabbed fourth with a time of 15:57.67.
Jacob Truebenbach (Fr.-Shakopee, MN) took fourth place in the shot put event. He posted a throw of 14.56 meters (47-9 ?) for the finish.
The Blugolds will be back in action next Saturday when they host the UWEC Invite at Simpson Field at 11:00 a.m.
