Men's Golf Ties For Second At Wartburg Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team shot a two-day score of 585 to tie for second at the Wartburg Spring Invitational concluded here today at the Waverly Country Club.
Grant Lissick (Jr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) and Mike Greer (So.-White Bear Lake, MN) shot identical scores in leading the Blugolds. Lissick and Greer both shot opening round 71s followed by 74s today to finish in a tie for seventh.
Tyler Leis (So.-Reedsburg) shot a 2-over 74 today to tie for 10. Derek Pirkl (Jr.-Stoughton) shot a two-day 149 to tie for 21st while Cole Stark (So.-Eau Claire/Memorial) shot a 160 to tie for 78th.
Central College (IA) took the team crown shooting a two-day 578. Pete Weber of Loras shot the top individual score with a 2-under 140 for the tournament.
The Blugolds will be in action next when they compete in the Buena Vista Invitational Friday and Saturday. Play is scheduled to begin Friday at 10 a.m.
