Men's Track In Fifth At WIAC Championships

PLATTEVILLE - The UW-Eau Claire men's track and field team finished the first day of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships in fifth place here today on the UW-Platteville campus.
UW-La Crosse is in first with 72.5 points followed by UW-Whitewater with 30 and Platteville with 27. UW-Oshkosh is fourth with 23 points followed by Eau Claire with 16.
John Schuna (Sr.-Hudson) took fourth in the shot put with a toss of 53-5 - feet. Teammate Jacob Truebenbach (Fr.-Shakopee, MN) finished right behind Schuna with a season-best throw of 50-3 - feet.
Eric Johnson (So.-Schofield/D.C. Everest) took fourth in the long jump with a season-best jump of 22-3 feet with teammate Shaun Marek (Sr.-Waunakee) taking ninth.
The Blugolds will conclude the championships tomorrow with competition starting at 11:30 a.m.
