She has provisionally qualified in the long and triple jumps as well as the 55-meter hurdles. Her time of 8.45 seconds in the hurdles is the best in the conference while teammate Liz Faller (So.-Marinette/Luther College) is third with a time of 8.59 seconds. Stafslien has the second best jump in the WIAC in both the long jump and triple jump, behind UW-Stout's Laura Verdegan in each event. Stafslien has a distance of 5.40 meters (17-8?) in the long jump and 11.39 meters (37-4?) in the triple jump. Ashley Nelson (Sr.-Darwin, MN/Litchfield) will be competing in five different events, including both the long and triple jumps. She has the 11th best distance in conference this season in both events. Nelson will also be competing in the 200-meter dash, an event that she has the ninth best time in conference at 26.91 seconds. She will compete in the 55-meter dash as well after posting the 10th best time in the WIAC at 7.54 seconds. Kelly Sprague (So.-Mankato, MN/East) will also compete in the 55-meter dash. She had the eighth best time in conference this season with a time of 7.53 seconds. Nelson will also compete in the 4x200-meter relay event. Christina Locke (So.-Racine/Horlick) will look to represent the Blugolds in the mid-distance events. While Locke works on the mid-distance events, Molly Warner (Fr.-Mosinee) will look for strong showings in the long distance events. Stephanie Barnes (So.-Sauk City/Sauk Prairie) and Jessica Owens (Fr.-Elm Grove/Brookfield East) bring high hopes of victories in field events to the competition this weekend. Barnes has the conference's best height in the pole vault this season at 3.66 meters (12-0) while Owens has the third best high jump this year at 1.65 meters (5-5). Both marks are good for provisional qualification to next weekend's national competition. Kristi Hansen (Sr.-Rosemount, MN) will look for a win in the 400-meter dash.
