Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Hockey Places Four On All-NCHA Team Posted: Monday, February 28, 2005 RIVER FALLS - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team earned four Northern Collegiate Hockey Association All-Conference honorable mention selections, it was announced recently by NCHA Sports Information Director Jim Thies. The 2004-05 Blugolds set the Eau Claire single season wins record as they finished the season 15-9-1. The previous record for wins in one year was 10, set last season. The Blugolds also tied the single game goals record this year in a 12-0 win at Hamline (MN) on February 2. Goalie Jill Arendt (Fr.-Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) earns the honorable mention selection in just her first season as a Blugold. Arendt posted a goal-against-average of just 2.11 as she earned all 15 wins between the pipes. The win total is also a new season record for a Blugold goalie. Arendt finished second in the NCHA with 505 saves and ninth in goal-against-average. She also spent more time between the pipes than any other goalie in the league, as she finished the season with a total of 1,423:06 played. Amanda Schultz (Jr.-Stevens Point/SPASH) is one of two Blugold forwards to earn an honorable mention selection. The selection is the second of her career as she was also named honorable mention two years ago as a freshman. Schultz led the Blugolds with 15 goals and 23 points this season. The 15 goals places her third in the NCHA while her 23 points was good for a sixth-place tie. She also posted five power play goals, placing her fourth in the NCHA in that category. Laura Suppes (So.-Falcon Heights, MN) joins Schultz as Blugold forwards that earned honorable mention recognition. Suppes was also an honorable mention selection last season. She finished the year second on the team with 17 total points, coming via nine goals and eight assists. Her three game-winning goals tied her for sixth in the NCHA while her two shorthanded goals tied her for the conference lead. Allie Campbell (So.-Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) represents the Blugold defense on the honorable mention team. Campbell was also an honorable mention selection last season as a freshman. She finished this year with two goals and three assists while anchoring a strong Blugold defense. Schultz was also one of four Blugolds named to the All-NCHA Academic Team. She joins Jessie Boyles (Jr.-Prior Lake, MN), Laura Brackey (Jr.-Oakdale, MN/Tartan) and Amber Stevenson (So.-Eagan, MN) on the Academic Team. All-NCHA Academic Team Release - DN - |
