Sat, May 25, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Hockey Falls To Point In Playoffs Posted: Saturday, February 26, 2005 STEVENS POINT - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team fell 3-0 to fifth-ranked and top-seeded UW-Stevens Point in the semifinals of the Northern Collegiate Athletic Conference Playoffs held here today at the Ice Hawks Arena. The Blugolds allowed an even strength goal in each period and were held to only 15 shots on goal in the loss. Eau Claire had five power play opportunities but was unable to capitalize. Point's Hilary Bulger scored 5:13 into the game to give the Pointers the early lead. Ashley Howe added a goal in the second with Kate Lankey concluding the scoring with a goal 3:26 into the final period. Jill Arendt (Fr.-Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) played all 60 minutes in goal making 31 saves. The loss drops Eau Claire to 14-9-1 on the year. The Pointers improve to 21-2-1 with the win. Stevens Point moves on to the title game to face the winner of the UW-Superior-UW-River Falls game. The Blugolds will play the loser of the Superior-River Falls in the third-place game.
