Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Tennis To Host St. Scholastica Posted: Thursday, February 24, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team looks to make it three straight wins when it hosts the College of St. Scholastica Saturday at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center tennis courts. The Blugolds come into the weekend with a 4-2 record. Eau Claire has won their last two meets defeating Simpson College 6-1 and Hamline University 5-2. The Blugolds lost to the Saints last year 5-2. Aaron Nordenskjold (So.-Red Wing, MN) leads the Blugolds into the weekend with solid play in both singles and doubles action. Nordenskjold won his last two matches at two singles to improve to 4-2 and has teamed with Tim Eisele (Fr.-Lakeville, MN/Apple Valley) to go 4-2 at two doubles. Eisele has also played strong in singles action going 4-2 winning all four matches in straight sets. Erik Brandner (Fr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) is having a strong debut season going 4-1 between five and six singles. The tandem of Jeff Peterson (So.-Edina, MN) and Jake Znidarsich (Fr.-La Crosse/Central) has been unbeatable at three doubles going 6-0. Peterson and Znidarsich earned the only Blugold win against Luther College with a 9-8 victory. The Saints come into the weekend with three straight losses to start the season. St. Scholastica fell to Hamline, St. Cloud State and Michigan Tech while winning only three matches. The dual meet is scheduled to begin at noon. - JL - |
