Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Tennis Aces Simpson, Hamline Posted: Saturday, February 19, 2005 DECORAH, Iowa - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team rebounded from a 7-0 loss to Luther College to defeat Simpson College 6-1 and Hamline University 5-2 here today. The Blugolds opened with the victory over Simpson. Eau Claire swept the doubles action with Chris Slagle (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) and Mike Borgertpoepping (Fr.-Owatonna, MN) winning 8-5 at one doubles. Jeff Peterson (So.-Edina, MN) and Jake Znidarsich (Fr.-La Crosse/Central) remained undefeated at three doubles winning 8-1. Eau Claire took five of six singles matches led by Aaron Nordenskjold's (So.-Red Wing, MN) 7-6, 6-4 win at two singles. Znidarsich won his first singles match of the year with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at six singles. The Blugolds followed the Simpson win with the 5-2 win over Hamline. Eau Claire took two of three doubles matches with Peterson and Znidarsich improving to 6-0 at three doubles. Nordenskjold bounced back from a 6-0 loss in the opening set to win the next two sets 6-2, 7-6 at two singles. Tim Eisele (Fr.-Lakeville, MN/Apple Valley), Znidarsich and Erik Brandner (Fr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) also won in singles actions. Eau Claire will be in action next when it plays Bethel College Friday.
