Sat, May 25, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Basketball Looks To Avenge Stout Loss this Saturday Posted: Thursday, February 10, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team will host I-94 rival UW-Stout this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at Zorn Arena, where the Blugolds will look to avenge an earlier season 75-58 loss to the Blue Devils. The game is the last home contest for the Blugolds. The two teams matched up on January 15 in Menomonie. The Blugolds shot just 28.3 percent from the floor in the loss as they came no closer than 12 points in the second half. Rachel Becker (Jr.-Gilmanton) led Eau Claire with 16 points while Katie Murphy (Sr.-La Crosse/Aquinas) added 14. Michelle Burns (Fr.-Eau Claire/North) led the Blugolds with nine rebounds. Eau Claire comes into Saturday's game with a 14-8 overall record and a 7-6 mark in conference play, placing them fifth in the conference standings. The Blue Devils are currently 17-5 on the season and 10-3 in the conference, tying them for the best mark in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. Jessica Dickey (Sr.-White Bear Lake, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) leads Eau Claire with 12.4 points per game, placing her seventh in the WIAC. Burns is second on the roster and 10th in the WIAC with 11.6 points per game and is also first on the team and eighth in the conference with 6.7 rebounds per contest. Becker is 14th in the WIAC with 10.7 points per game and leads the conference by a landslide with 122 assists. The runner up in assists has just 83 on the season. Becker is also sixth in the conference with 52 steals. Kelsey Duoss leads the Blue Devils into play on Saturday and is second in the WIAC with 13.3 points per game. She is also second in the conference with 7.4 rebounds per game. Lindsey Erichsen is second on the Stout roster and 11th in the conference with 11.6 points per game. She currently sits sixth in the conference with 6.8 rebounds per contest. Erin Churchill leads the Blue Devils with 78 assists, placing her third in the WIAC. The Blugolds hold a wide advantage in the all-time series, posting a record of 38-18 against the Blue Devils. Stout has won the last two contests between the two teams, including the win earlier this season. Last season the Blugolds and Blue Devils split the season series, with Eau Claire winning 70-69 in overtime at home but falling 62-51 on the road. The action begins this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at W.L.
