Sat, May 18, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Wrestlers Take Seventh At Own Invite Posted: Saturday, February 5, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team finished in seventh place with 28 points at the Blugold Invitational held here today at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center. Derek Sikora (Jr.-Neillsville) and Larry Moen (Sr.-Madison/East) finished second in their respective weight classes. After receiving a first round bye at 165 pounds Sikora won his first match 14-6 and his second 7-5 to set up a championship match between Sikora and Wartburg's Andrew Knaack. The second-seeded Knaack defeated Sikora 8-3 in the finals. Moen won two closely contested matches to reach the finals at 197 pounds. Moen won his first match 4-3 and his second 3-2 to reach the finals. Jason Figgins of Loras defeated Moen 8-2 in the finals. Tony D'Antuono (Jr.-Waukesha/South) finished fourth at 141 pounds. D'Antuono pinned his first opponent but fell to second-seeded Robert Kuennen of Wartburg to go to the consolation bracket. D'Antuono won his next two matches but fell to third-seeded Ben Selsing of UW-Stevens Point to take fourth. Stevens Point took first with 111.5 points followed by Wartburg and UW-La Crosse. Itasca finished fourth followed by Loras and UW-Oshkosh. The Blugolds will be in action next when they travel to Stevens Point Saturday to take on the Pointers in a dual meet.
