Wed, May 22, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date stafslien Shines At Warren Bowlus Open Posted: Saturday, February 5, 2005 MENOMONIE - Jen Stafslien (Sr. -Onalaska/West Salem) earned first place in three different events as the UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track and field team claimed third place out of eight teams here today at the Warren Bowlus Open hosted by UW-Stout. The Blugolds posted a team score of 144 points, falling to first-place UM-Duluth with 168 points and host Stout with 167. UW-Parkside claimed fourth place with 67 points while UW-Superior, Northwestern (MN), North Central, and Michigan Tech rounded out the bunch. Stafslien posted three of the four Eau Claire wins on the day, taking first in both the long and triple jumps as well as the 55-meter hurdles. She won the long jump with a distance of 5.28 meters (17-4) while winning the triple jump with a distance of 11.34 meters (37-2?). She also showed her skills on the track portion of the meet, winning the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.56 seconds. Kristi Hansen (Sr.-Rosemount, MN) earned the only other win of the day for Eau Claire, posting the victory in the 400-meter dash. She finished the event with a time of 1:01.22, more than two seconds better than the runner-up. Liz Faller (So.-Marinette/Luther College) and Stephanie Barnes (So.-Sauk City/Sauk Prairie) each earned a second-place finish on the day. Faller finished behind only Stafslien in the 55-meter hurdles while Barnes finished runner-up in the pole vault competition.
