Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Hockey Shut Out By St. Mary's Posted: Saturday, January 29, 2005 WINONA, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team will have to wait until at least Wednesday to set the single season wins record as the Blugolds were shutout 3-0 by St. Mary's (MN) here today in Winona. Eau Claire falls to 10-6-1 on the season and is just one win shy of setting a new school record for wins in a season. Last year's team set the record of 10 in the fourth season of varsity women's hockey at Eau Claire. St. Mary's improved to 7-9-0 on the year with the win and avenged an earlier 4-0 loss to the Blugolds at Hobbs Ice Arena in Eau Claire. The two teams skated to a scoreless first period but 5:42 into the second Val Rodriguez scored the game-winner for the Cardinals. St. Mary's scored two power-play goals in the final seven minutes of the game to seal the victory. The Cardinals earned the win despite posting just 15 shots on goal to Eau Claire's 31. The Blugolds will look to set the single season wins record this Wednesday when they head to Minneapolis to play Hamline (MN) at 7:00 p.m. Eau Claire-St. Mary's Box Score - DN - |
