Sun, May 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Swimmers & Divers Victorious In Whitewater Posted: Saturday, January 29, 2005 WHITEWATER - The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams each emerged with dual meet victories over UW-Whitewater here today in the Williams Center pool. The Blugold men snapped the Warhawks string of nine consecutive dual meet victories, a Whitewater school record. Eau Claire won today's dual meet by a score of 138-105. The Warhawks go to 9-1 on the season in dual meets while Eau Claire improves to 4-2. The Blugolds left Whitewater winners of nine events, including the 400-yard medley relay. Mike Carroll (Sr.-Green Lake), Matt Schuebel (Sr.-Racine/Horlick) and Bryan Dykstra (Fr.-Racine/Horlick) all earned two wins on the day. Carroll won the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:26.51 while also winning the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.84. Schuebel earned a win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.13 seconds and was also the winner of the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 50.77 seconds. Dykstra earned wins for the diving side of the men's team in both the one and three-meter events. He posted a score of 258.70 in the one-meter and a score of 268.80 in the three-meter. Brian Jordan (Fr.-Madison/West) claimed victory in the 1000-yard freestyle event with a time of 10:46.66 while Doug Horton (Fr.-Burnsville, MN) was the winner of the 200-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 2:24.84. On the women's side, the Blugolds won by a score of 150-85 to move to 3-3 on the season in dual meets. The Eau Claire women's also grabbed nine first-place finishes, including wins in both of the relay events. Emily Diehl (Fr.-Prairie du Sac/Sauk Prairie) was the only Blugold with two wins on the day, claiming first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.51 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:36.48. Cori Severson (Jr.-Brainerd, MN) was the winner of the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.60 while Emmie Lee (Fr.-Zimmerman, MN/Elk River) won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:26.72. Ane Klomps (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) grabbed victory in the 100-yard freestyle event, posting a time of 57.45 seconds. Kara Kneisl (Fr.-Mahtomedi, MN) also earned a victory, posting a time of 2:19.01 in the 200-yard backstroke event. The final win for the Blugolds came in the 3-meter diving event, where Sarah Myers (So.-Eau Claire/North) posted a score of 245.30.
