Wed, Jun 19, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Swimmers & Divers Top Hamline Posted: Friday, January 28, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams each topped Hamline University (MN) in dual meets here tonight at the McPhee pool. The men topped the Pipers by a score of 213-49 while the women won by a score of 209-90. On the men's side, the Blugolds earned 14 victories including wins in both relay events. Mike Carroll (Sr.-Green Lake) took home three-first place finishes while Matt Schuebel (Sr.-Racine/Horlick) and Scott Heatwole (Jr.-Port Washington) earned two victories on the day. Carroll was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:04.75 and the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:05.24 while also winning the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:37.12. Schuebel won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.90 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:29.66. Heatwole won both diving events, posting a score of 283.60 in the 1-meter event and a score of 253.70 in the 3-meter event. Brian Jordan (Fr.-Madison/West) was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.56. Brian Hauerwas (Fr.-Caledonia/Racine Case) won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.87 seconds while Blake Christenson (So.-Oshkosh/North) won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:17.26. Cale Schmidt-Jackson (So.-Duluth, MN/East) won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.35 seconds. The women grabbed a total of 13 first-place finishes including both relay events. Cori Severson (Jr.-Brainerd, MN), Emmie Lee (Fr.-Zimmerman, MN/Elk River) and Emily Diehl (Fr.-Prairie du Sac/Sauk Prairie) all emerged with two victories at the meet. Severson won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.58 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.1. Lee won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:16.13 and the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:03.73. Diehl was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.74 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.52. Amanda Kroger (Fr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) claimed first place in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 19:04.49 while Annie Gorman (Jr.-Menomonie) won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:18.62. Calli King (So.-Madison/Memorial) earned a win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.21 seconds while Sarah Myers (So.-Eau Claire/North) was victorious in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 218.35. Hannah Rivall (Fr.-Stillwater, MN) earned the final Blugold victory with a win in the 200 yard individual medley, posting a time of 2:24.83.
