Sat, May 18, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Blugold Wrestlers Come From Behind To Beat Lawrence Posted: Sunday, January 23, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - Josh Holforty (Fr. -Bloomington, MN/Kennedy) and Larry Moen (Sr. -Madison/East) earned pins in the final two matches of the meet to give the UW-Eau Claire wrestling team a dramatic 25-23 come-from-behind dual meet victory over Lawrence here today at the McPhee Physical Education Center. The Blugolds improve to 4-9 in dual meets on the season with the win today. With Eau Claire in a 6-0 hole after a forfeit at 125 pounds, Shane Brady (Fr.-Chetek) earned a 7-1 win to make the score 6-3. Tony D'Antuono (Jr.-Waukesha/South) followed that up with a 17-9 victory at 141 pounds to put the Blugolds ahead 7-6. After a forfeit at 149 pounds and a win at 157 pounds Lawrence went back on top 15-7 but Derek Sikora (Jr.-Neillsville) earned a pin in 4:19 at 165 pounds to make the score 15-13. Lawrence won the next two matches to put Eau Claire in a 23-13 hole before Holforty and Moen went to work. Holforty earned a pin in 2:42 at 197 pounds to make the score 23-19 and Moen finished it off, pinning his opponent in just 1:21 to complete the comeback. The Blugolds will be back in action Tuesday night when they play host to UW-Platteville. The meet is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the McPhee Physical Education Center.
